The Heritage Day Craft Show was kind of a last minute decision as I was only just invited last weekend while at the Stone Mills show. The coordinators of Heritage Day were so sweet and thoughtful. They stopped by to check on us throughout the day and even accommodated us with a more level spot than we initially had.
The day ended really pleasantly. It was a juried show and of only two awards given, I received the People’s Choice award! Unexpected and wonderful. Apparently, people had been talking about my dishes all day. It’s so awesome to hear that. It’s a very gratifying way to end the day.
To top it off, the gentleman next to us that was selling various vegetables, maple syrup and woodcarvings gave us a CRATE full of cucumbers. I spent this morning shopping for other ingredients and supplies to make pickles! Yay! Its been a long time since I’ve had my mother’s bread and butter pickles. I can’t wait.
